Functional Osteopathy

FUNCTIONAL OSTEOPATHY .jpg

Functional osteopathy is a specialised form of osteopathy with its unique combination of Applied Functional Science. Where I have undergone the prestigious training in Applied Functional Science (AFS) in the USA.

AFS uses a method called chain reaction biomechanics and is based on the principles of functional movement. Functional osteopaths will use AFS to look at the body as a whole to treat injury. they can demonstrate and explain how stiff ankle mobility maybe the root cause to your episodic lower back pain.

While hands-on osteopathic therapy is used, Chain reaction biomechanics assessment is based around movements you perform in every day life. Some or all of the treatment occurs in upright functional positions to make treatment as authentic or as task specific as possible. This enables treatment to directly translate back to improving your movement in everyday life.

Treatment is unique to your ability and goals. This treatment approach provides the key to unlock movements in your joints and body it has not been able to facilitate and teaches it how to move better. The power of combining osteopathy and AFS is paramount in helping people get out of pain and back too enjoying what they want to do quicker.
