Sports Massage + Acupuncture
Western medical acupuncture, also know as dry needling and modern acupuncture, is used specifically to target muscle and joint pain. Needles are gently inserted into muscle trigger points in order to improve blood flow, release tension and modulate neurological input to the target muscle.
Western medical acupuncture can be particularly effective when used in conjunction with sports massage or osteopathy. The mixture of needling and hands on treatment can promote improved and longer lasting change in muscle health.
At The NOVA Clinic we often use dry needling as part of osteopathic treatment, but we also offer acupuncture alongside sports massage for those looking for more out of their soft tissue treatment.
